Peel Blind Rivet Technical Datasheet

Product Overview

Peel blind rivets are specialized blind fasteners designed for joining soft, brittle, or low-strength materials where conventional blind rivets may cause cracking, pull-through, or deformation. During installation, the rivet body splits into multiple legs that fold back against the blind side of the application, creating a large bearing surface and secure fastening without damaging the substrate.

Peel blind rivets are commonly used in plastics, fiberglass, composites, plywood, insulation panels, fiberboard, and other soft materials. They are widely used in automotive interiors, HVAC systems, furniture manufacturing, appliance assembly, signage, and lightweight fabrication applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a peel blind rivet?

A peel blind rivet is a special blind rivet that splits into multiple legs on the blind side during installation, creating a large bearing surface suitable for soft and brittle materials.

What materials are peel rivets used for?

Peel rivets are commonly used in plastics, fiberglass, composites, plywood, insulation boards, and other low-strength materials.

Can peel rivets be used in metal-to-metal applications?

Peel rivets are primarily designed for soft materials and are generally not recommended where high structural strength is required.

Are peel blind rivets waterproof?

Standard peel blind rivets are not designed as watertight fasteners. For sealing applications, closed-end or sealed rivets should be considered.

What material combinations are available?

Common combinations include Aluminium/Steel, Steel/Steel, Stainless Steel/Stainless Steel, and Aluminium/Stainless Steel.

What installation tools can be used?

Peel blind rivets can be installed using standard manual, pneumatic, or battery-operated blind rivet tools.

Are peel rivets considered structural rivets?

No. Peel blind rivets are intended primarily for fastening soft and brittle materials rather than for structural load-bearing applications.
