Self-Clinching Blind Standoffs Technical Datasheet
Product Overview
Through standoffs are self-clinching threaded fasteners designed to provide permanent, load-bearing female threads in thin sheet metal panels. Once installed using a press-in process, the standoff becomes an integral part of the sheet, eliminating the need for welding, tapping, or loose hardware.
These fasteners are widely used in electrical enclosures, control panels, telecommunication equipment, electronic assemblies, data centers, automotive components, and industrial machinery where reliable spacing and threaded attachment points are required. Through standoffs are available in blind and through-hole configurations and can be installed in steel, stainless steel, and aluminum sheets depending on the material grade selected.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a self-clinching blind standoff?
A self-clinching blind standoff is a press-fit threaded spacer that permanently installs into sheet metal to provide a durable female thread and maintain spacing between assembled components.
What is the difference between BSO, BSOS, and BSO4 series?
The BSO is steel with zinc plating. BSOS is stainless steel 300 series, and BSO4 is stainless steel 400 series.
Can through standoffs be installed in stainless steel sheets?
Yes. Specific stainless steel versions are designed for installation into stainless steel sheets.
What installation equipment is required?
Installation is typically performed using a press capable of applying the recommended installation force uniformly.
Can through standoffs replace welded spacers?
Yes. Self-clinching standoffs eliminate welding operations while providing excellent mechanical performance and assembly efficiency.
